You would be amazed at the reactions I get when I tell people I’m a counselor. Some assume my job is hard and commend me for what I do. Others turn to my husband and ask him what it’s like living with a counselor (at which time I stand and wait for the wise crack joke my husband will make).
Many times, people start rattling off names of family members that need counseling. Or they start talking about their own problems. Or they run. People often assume I have it all together. If I counsel others than I must be perfect right? WRONG.
I’m a normal person. (I’ll leave the definition of “normal” for you to figure out). I have quirks. I’ve made mistakes. I get irritated at times. And I’m striving everyday to be more like Christ.
I love people and want to spur them to be where they want to be in life. To speak truth and encourage others in their darkest moments. To be a guide and a support along their journey in life.
This blog was started to be a resource for YOU. Whether you are in counseling or not, I hope that the posts on this blog not only enlighten you but encourage you to keep pressing on.
